Where do these color values come from?
Many color names — gold, teal, navy or khaki — are CSS named colors with one exact value that every browser uses, and their pages use that value. Other names, such as cream, sage green, burgundy or emerald green, have no official digital definition; their pages show a commonly used representative value and point out the usual variations. Where a CSS value differs from what people usually mean by the name (CSS khaki is much paler than khaki fabric), the page explains the difference.
